‘middlemen’ Premiers at New Jersey Repertory Theatre

A new play titled middlemen is now playing at the New Jersey Repertory Company Theatre in Long Branch, New Jersey.   Written by David Jenkins and directed by Marc Geller, the play features two man who find themselves the sole survivors of a corporation in shut down mode.

The two men, played by David Friedlander and Duncan M. Rogers, are report writers who now are placed in a compromised situation where it seems like they will be the ones to account for actions taken by people other than themselves.  They are truly “middlemen” as they didn’t take the actions, but only took what was given to them and put it into a report.  Their attempt to deal with the situation is both humorous and somewhat scary at the same time.  Shown below are some photos of the action in the play.

Duncan M. Rogers (left) plays Michael who works right across from Stanley (right) played by David Friedlander.  Here they are trying to calmly assess the situation.

Michael has a number of “ah ha” moments during the show including this one where the severity of the situation is sinking in.

Michael seeks comfort from older worker Stanley.  Stanley comes up with a solution, for the moment.

Stanley has issues both from work and at home and seeks refuge both in the coffee and a private bottle he keeps in his desk.

It’s 4:00 a.m. and Michael and Stanley are still both at work when a sound comes out of the blue.
